theCoderSchool Folsom runs week-long summer coding camps in small groups of about six campers per instructor, covering game design in Scratch or Snap, Python, Minecraft and Roblox modding in Lua, and Lego Spike robotics. Most camps are half-day sessions from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.; the robotics week runs a full 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. day. Tracks are set at ages 7 and up, with Roblox and Python aimed at 9 and up, and campers demo their projects at the end of the week. The school's main business is year-round after-school coding coaching, and it is one location of a national franchise founded in Silicon Valley.

Powered by GoogleThis place is structured so that one instructor teaches two students. Even though child has not been attending for long, they are already creating an airplane game and genuinely enjoying it. The academy helps students learn useful skills while also making it fun. The facilities are clean, and the staff are friendly.
My son just completed a week long, full day Roblox Coding summer camp. We reserved the camp several weeks in advance and everything was well organized and communicated throughout the process. Every staff person was knowledgeable, professional, kind, supportive and communicative. The instruction provided to the kids was easy to understand, and instructors were patient and calm. They provided free scripts for future use. The facility was clean, organized and safe. They concluded each day with an email update with photos and a description of the days events and lessons. My son loved making new friends, learning how to code and script and was sad when the week came to an end. The last day of the event included a showcase where each student presented the games they made. We intend to sign up for additional coaching sessions. I highly recommend!
A big heartfelt thank you to The Coder School Folsom and especially to Coach Elijah! My two sons—coming into Grade 4 and Grade 6—are absolutely thriving in their weekly sessions. They’re learning, creating, and having a blast while developing their coding skills in Scratch, Python, and HTML/CSS. It’s been amazing to watch their confidence grow as they explore new concepts and bring their ideas to life through code. We’re so happy to have found a place that not only teaches valuable technical skills but also truly nurtures their curiosity, creativity, and passion. Highly recommend to any parent looking to inspire a love for tech in their kids!
My 8 year old loved the Minecraft camp. Everyday he was excited to go and build stuff. He is already looking forward for next year camp and asked me to book ahead of time before it gets full. He fully enjoyed it. All the coaches and staff were super nice and the camp was well organized. Thank You.
I recently enrolled my 6 and 7-year-old daughters in the Minecraft coding summer camp at The Coding School in Folsom, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that Kim and Malou, the owners, are incredibly accommodating and genuinely care about each child's learning experience. The teachers—Conner, Alex, and Andy—were outstanding. They were patient, knowledgeable, and made learning fun. My daughters came home every day excited to share what they had learned and eager to return the next day. The balance between education and fun was perfect, and it's evident that the staff put a lot of effort into making the camp engaging and enjoyable. I highly recommend The Coding School's Minecraft coding camp to any parent looking for a fantastic summer activity that combines learning and fun. We will definitely be back next summer and look forward to taking other classes in the future.
