theCoderSchool is a national coding-school franchise, founded in Silicon Valley in 2014 and now over 70 locations, that teaches kids ages 7 to 18 to code in Python, Scratch, JavaScript and more through private and low-ratio classes. Its San Mateo location is at 22 17th Avenue, Suite E, San Mateo. My 11 year old son has been attending weekly semi-private classes here for about a month. He really enjoys it and looks forward to class. When I go to pick him up, he doesn’t want to leave. The instructor is awesome and really knows how to connect with kids.

My 11 year old daughter and 9 year old son goes to theCoderSchool in San Mateo. It’s been great because not only are they learning how to code, they don’t complain about going like they do with their other after school activities. This makes it easy for all of us. Their former coding teacher, Joyce can guide them to think outside the box while still being relevant to solve the problem. Now, they have Alexander (whom our kids also like) encourages them to bring their imagination and creativity in their heads to life by utilizing their coding ability to build projects. They enjoy coming home sharing with me what they have done in class. Their GM, John, has great knowledge about coding and is really great with pairing our kids with the right teacher. He’s very communicative and welcoming! Many thanks to everyone there!

We have had a great experience at the San Mateo location. The instructors are smart and friendly. Our kids are learning a lot and getting comfortable with code. And, perhaps most importantly, they look forward to each lesson. It's also worth noting that the school is very flexible with cancelations. Our kids have to miss class with some frequency due to travel or other conflicts, and there's no problem: the school simply reduces next month's bill to reflect the missed class.

My son has been learning at San Mateo Coder school for a few years. They did in person group classes for 2 years and then took 1 year off. He is now doing remote codine 2:1 with his best friend once a week. He really likes the remote class and the semi- private custom class. We have been with Coder school since it opened in San Mateo and we love the services. Olga is excellent and fast with communication. The school hires really good teachers. And it has grown and adapted to the COVID changes well. I highly recommend it.

My son has been attending the Coder School for more than a year now and his experience has been great! Good motivation, good team dynamics and excellent learning environment, both in person as well as remotely now. I have seen a huge progress on how my son approaches problems and think creatively to solve them. On top, the Coder School is super flexible to accommodate our needs if we need to cancel or reschedule a class which for me, it is a huge plus.
