Steve & Kate's Camp in Emeryville is a self-directed summer day camp for ages 4 to 12, held at the East Bay German International School from June 8 to August 7, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Campers choose their own activities minute to minute from a media lab with stop-motion animation, VR and iPad coding, robotics, a sewing salon, a bakery, a tinker lab with 3D pens, sports and rec, water play and a game lounge, plus weekly specials like inflatables, magic shows and a Friday pie-in-the-face tradition. Parents buy Day Passes ($129, or $114 each at 15 or more) or a Summer Pass ($3,420) and drop off and pick up any time within camp hours; unused passes are refunded automatically. Lunch and snacks are included, and financial aid is available.
