Echo Grove is The Salvation Army's camp and retreat center on Lakeville Lake near Oxford in north Oakland County, founded in 1921 as a fresh air camp for children from low-income families and still serving that mission a century on. Summer overnight camp includes swimming and boating, nature trails, adventure learning, archery, a ropes and challenge course, fishing and sports fields. Registration opens in May, and campers sign up through their local Salvation Army worship center rather than directly with the camp.

★★★★★Novalee RyderMy youth group and I used to come here yearly for our winter retreats. The workers treated us amazingly and fed us amazing food. The cabins we stayed in were kept clean and intact. The bunk beds were comfy, but we did have to bring our own bedding. I would look foward to these retreats that my church would host here every year and would totally recommend this place to anyone who asks.

It was wonderful to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life to focus on the Father. Family friendly environment, housing was adaquate.. yes they do have handicapped accessible rooms. ☺️ Plenty of buildings to hold meeting and/or worship services. Large cafeteria and plenty of group activities to be done. I really enjoyed the pantoon ride around the lake with my Misch'pachah (family). 💞
