The Nature Place is an ACA-accredited, non-competitive nature day camp for ages 4-16 on 200 acres in Chestnut Ridge (Rockland County), NY, founded in 1985. Instead of competitive sports or screens, campers garden, hike, cook, do earth art, swim, rock climb, and learn outdoor skills. Sessions run four to six weeks for an intentionally small community capped around 250, with bus service from Manhattan, Queens, and nearby counties.
