The Nature Bus runs Nature Quest, a travelling summer day camp that departs each morning from REI at Town Center in Virginia Beach and buses campers to parks, preserves and beaches around the region. Days are led by two teachers or naturalists and mix ecosystem exploration, flora and fauna identification, swimming, sand sculpture, nature journaling, watercolor and eco-arts; there is a camp for ages 8-12 and a separate teen camp for ages 13-15. The bus seats only 16, and a week costs $400 per seat with no sibling discount.

I had the pleasure of taking a kayak ecotour with Suzanne and The Nature Bus. I highly recommend The Nature Bus for anyone who wants to learn about nature and have fun doing it. Suzanne is a highly professional owner who cares about her business and her customers/clients. She goes the extra step to ensure everyone is satisfied and has a good time. Our kayak guide, James, was very knowledgeable about the area and gave a history and explanation of the ecology of the James River and the surrounding water ways. On the actual kayak paddle he explained the different plant and animal life that we encountered. Again, I highly recommend Suzanne and The Nature Bus and plan on taking other excursions in the future. You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely loved our adventure today on The Nature Bus to Sweethaven Lavender of Williamsburg with my garden club! Suzanne Moss is a joy to be on the road with! She is energetic and informative! The bus is so much fun! (Ask to hear the horn! Spoiler alert: it’s not a typical horn!) Can’t wait for my next adventure! This is an absolute must do!

With the summer approaching, I was searching for a summer camp for our 3 year old, we found the nature bus and the amazing thinkergarten summer camp opportunity. The nature bus is a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature while creating meaningful and unforgettable memories with your little ones as well as to build friendships and network with other parents. From an amazing trip to the First Landing Park, followed by many age appropriate STEAM activities, to a relax tea party/break, the nature bus will keep your little ones busy exploring nature and building interpersonal skills and relationships. Thank you, Mrs. Suzanne for such a wonderful experience! We will definitely do it again & 100%recommend!

The soggy weather couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm of our group trip to the Shenandoah National Park and Charlottesville area Wineries! The weekend was full of fun adventures from rustic cabin camping and hiking, farm tours, downtown eateries and wineries!! Suzanne and Gary are lovely hosts and made sure everyone enjoyed the trip! I look forward to joining another excursion on The Nature Bus soon!!!

I admittedly don't give many 5 star reviews BUT this ecotour absolutely earned it! Suzanne Moss is wonderfully authentic and genuinely welcoming. She ensures fostering a sense of inclusion for everyone. She is very thoughtful in making frequent restroom stops and just her overall high level of consideration for her customers. Our tour guide, James, was phenomenal in how versed he is about the area. He was astonishing in his capacity to keep everyone engaged with his aminated presentations. We didn't really get a chance to see the Sturgeon, but after such a fantastic trip... that didn't even matter. 😁
