Man oh man this was one great end to my week. Good people, good food, good vibes, security everywhere, a lot of people up here networking, trying to see what's going on in the community, catching up on old times. Great music, just out here enjoying each other's energy, you got to come experience this beautifulness!!! Every Thursday at The King Arts Complex from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. make sure you bring good energy and positive vibes!!! Also seen a few recognizable food trucks like 'Juniors Sweet Potato Pie'. 'Way Down Yonder New Orleans finest food truck' 'Mr G's Flavorhouse' And others that will make your mouth water!!! Come up here and eat good ya'll!!! I also must send a shout out to Senator Hearcel Craig who came out and showed a lot of love to a community that he grew up in and still loves to represent and does a lot for the community, so we must appreciate what he does and the fact that he still returns and makes sure he uplifts the community and still communicates and interacts with us thank you Mr Hearcel Craig.

One of the most beautiful buildings inside I’ve ever been too! Aminah Robinson and so much history in that building! Good things happens to those who wait. I visited the CDCFC Head Start program for an assignment and I drifted into the art respectfully!

Visited for the first time to see author James McBride. We arrived to greeters happy to check us in to the event and they were very welcoming. Once checked in I walked around the center and looked at some of the art work posted. The event was very well run and listening to James McBride was a delight. He touched on his current book as well as a few of his older classics and had a long Q&A session. Afterwards he signed books and took pictures while the center had cookies and waters for everyone. It was a great evening and we look forward to attending another event at the King Arts Complex.

Great activities, events, and experiences at The King Center. Check out the art gallery, take in a show, attend a tea, or rent it for your own private event. Great space, great location. Parking in front and back. Many events are free. But please support local centers with a generous donation so they may continue to provide quality programming at reasonable rates.
