Powered by GoogleWe have nothing but great things to say about Coach Thorton and his I Got Skillz summer training camp and his all of his training options available. This was my son's second year attending the I Got Skillz Camp and he gained increased confidence on and off the court, he sharpened his defensive skills and became more aggressive & assertive throughout the course of the week from techniques gained from drills and coaching. This camp is excellent and well worth the investment. We highly, recommend The DOBO and I Got Skillz Camp to anyone wanting to improve their mental and physical skills in the game of basketball and throughout life. We've been apart of the DOBO family for the past 6 years. Coach T and his staff are professional and the kids have fun while training! We can honestly say that our son has got better and applied his best attitude and his best effort in everything that he does in life due to DOBO mentality.
My 10-year old recently attended I GOT SKILLZ basketball camp, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, the camp was well-organized and offered a fantastic environment for young players to develop their skills and enjoy the game. The coaches were exceptional—enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and great at connecting with the kids. Josiah was excited about what he had learned and eager to practice the next day. The drills and activities were engaging and tailored to the age group, making the experience both educational and fun. Safety was top priority throughout the camp. Everything from check-in to daily activities was handled with care, and I felt confident that Josiah was in good hands. Overall, the camp exceeded my expectations, and Josiah had a blast. I highly recommend I GOT SKILLZ basketball camp to anyone looking for a well-run, enjoyable basketball camp for their kids. We’ll definitely be looking forward to attending again next year!!
My 6 year old son had his first training session with coach Mike. I was very pleased with the results. He started on time and utilized every moment knowing exactly what drill to do from one drill to the next. More importantly my son was very excited. Coach was firm an equally encouraging every step of the way. This played a big part in my son being excited and encouraged. Before we even left the gym he stated that he wanted to do it again tomorrow. Then when we arrived home i could hear him telling his mother (in the other room) about the mouse drill, and that coach Mike had challenged him about reaching into the cookie jar to help improve his jump shot. I look forward to his next session.
I cannot share how much our son Oscar loves to see Coach Mike. We started with Sunday sessions, I was blown away that Mike could have 21+ kids organized and focused in the way that he does. They really respect him and look up to him. He is fair, firm, encouraging, honest. Really a role model for us as parents as well as to our son. We were lucky enough to get a spot with Mike doing one and one training, and my son when he got home this week said “I love my sessions with coach Mike, he is the best”. We are so thankful to have the privilege for Oscar to work with Coach Mike! What a great guy. Best effort. Best attitude. #DOBO
Coach Thornton has been training my 12 year old daughter for 4 months now. She has learned more about the game on both sides of the ball as well as on and off the court, and then all her other coaches combined. If you want your child boy or girl to get to the next level, I couldn't think of a better person to help them along that journey. Coach Thornton actually cares about each athlete and ready gets to know them and build a personal relationship with them. Thank you, Coach, for all the hard work you put into making our kids not only better athletes but better people in general.
