Powered by GoogleMy 12 year old son's been in a bunch of different leagues (sometimes the coach would be transferred, or the season would be cancelled for lack of participation, or the coaching was a bad fit or whatever) and he has done three sessions of Junior NBA now here and this has been our favorite overall. The place is nice, clean, they have some benches though not much, the price is fair for a league in this area, the drills seem thoughtful, and there are enough kids for it to be fun for my son but not so much he doesn't get to play. The coaching is very well balanced. They push my son and challenge him which is what his dad wants and they don't do embarrassment/humiliation techniques which my son hates. He likes basketball but he wants to do it to hang out with other kids and have a good time. If he starts to hate the experience dragging him there becomes a pain and I don't feel like paying money for an extracurricular my kid doesn't enjoy and he does genuinely enjoy the practices and games here even when it's hard and sweaty and tiring. His last league was through Sterling Heights Rec and it was a nightmare the guy would just lecture to bored kids with glazed eyes for 80% of practice and then scream at them to quit smiling and lock in during games, getting my son through that season was like pushing a rock uphill never again. Anyway. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a league for your kid!
Compound is a wonderful facility. My sons have been coming here for a few months and have already developed many new skills. The coaches here are so patient & encouraging. Jaime, is an amazing person. First time we walked into the facility, she gave my sons a beautiful, motivating pep talk. Almost had me in tears. She took the time out of her busy schedule to give me advice on what I can do to get them ready for high school sports. Thank you Compound Facility for treating us like family. 🏀🙌🏻
This is an excellent facility for kids to enhance their skills and become great basketball players!!! I am so glad I made the switch from Greg Grant. Everything has been wonderful, from the owner Jamie who was so helpful and attentive to all the phenomenal coaches including coach Sticks. My son looks forward to his time here!
We just finished our first Jr. Pistons league and my kid had such a great time. The coaches work really well with the kids and in just a month he's improved his game so much. He's played 2 basketball seasons with his school and hasn't learn as much as he did with The Compound Athletics in the last month. We look forward to joining a summer camp!
My son plays on the Junior Pistons and loves it. All of the coaches are great and really work on improving the kids ability while making it a lot of fun for them. My son has made huge improvements in just 1 season at the Compound. We just signed up for our second season. He also does 1 on 1 training with Coach Sticks who is the best! He has really helped my son and boosted his confidence when he was just starting out.
