I attended Kathy Leader’s (The Art Process) “Art for the Soul" 4/14–4/16/23. The retreat is aptly titled as Kathy's passion is to help students access their innate creativity through a holistic approach. The retreat was well-planned and every resource was made available to participants. Each participant’s workspace was spacious with plenty of room for materials and working. The time was a treat for the senses – sunny space, color everywhere, upbeat music, materials to work with, and tasty healthy meals that were enjoyed by all. Kathy’s love for working with others to access their creativity is evident in her style – positivity, humor, clarity, and a consistent presence and availability. Through Kathy’s encouragement, I was able to set aside my inner art critic and enjoy authentic expression of my own creativity.
