I have been going to this gym for years never experienced racism, disrespect, or poor customer service. Today I met a girl named AJ who was rude and disrespectful. I came in after my twelve hour shift to workout signed into the gym building but did not sign into the group class. Then AJ starts yelling and screaming leaning over the counter like she is going to jump over it and attack me saying I need to check in and I can't go into the class. I tell her hey I'm running late let me set up because the class will start soon. She continues to act as if she is going to jump over the counter and attack me and I continue on to the class away from her at this point she's scaring me. At the end of the session I attempt to let someone know about her behavior and Kyle basically supports his coworker offers no remorse no alternative options for someone who is running behind to clock in. I literally just got off a 12 hour shift I'm drained mentally already as it is I don't expect to be treated differently every time but sometimes things do happen and once out of idk how many years won't kill anybody. Yet I have someone posturing and acting as if they will attack me and treating me different than others who she didn't ask to check in when they entered but I did notice I was the only black one she was yelling at. Also another person in class had not checked in. This lady never asked me if I was going to class she assumed and I'm not even that familiar with her. Mind you the process to clock in is inconvenient because you have to wait in line after whatever other needs customers have causing you to be late rather than the old method of just signing in the tablet when you get to class. Either way rules are rules but how you approach someone matters customer service in a gym where I pay the membership and bring business matters. This was completely disrespectful and distasteful. Awatukee has never treated me this way neither has chandler.

I really enjoyed the classes that they offer such as Yoga. The teachers are excellent. You come away feeling really good. They also have an excellent weight room. Everything that you can find in a bigger gym, you can find here.

It's the YMCA. Neighborhood family activity center. They really need to jazz these older ones up. This one smells like clay. Great people just needs some updates.

We enjoy our membership thru the YMCA - have many friends that we met and continue to see outside of the Y. Your staff is friendly and knows us. It makes you feel good when you walk in.
