Twenty-five years ago, after we had a built-in swimming pool put in our backyard, we decided to enroll our two-year-old daughter, Kaylee, in swim lessons. That’s when we met Amber, the instructor at Swim Tots, who taught a survival swim-and-float technique for young children. We signed Kaylee up for the course, and although every child learns at their own pace, she successfully completed the program and learned the important skills of swimming, floating, and surviving in the water. Some time later, we were having an addition built onto our house. There were several workers going in and out throughout the day, and someone accidentally left the sliding glass door open. Suddenly, I realized I couldn’t find Kaylee anywhere. I panicked and searched everywhere for her. Then I looked in the pool. There was our little two-year-old daughter, swimming and floating exactly the way Amber had taught her. Because of those lessons, my daughter survived. To this day, I am beyond grateful to Amber at Swim Tots for teaching my daughter skills that truly saved her life. Today, Kaylee is grown, married, and the mother of twin boys. Now that they are moving back to Florida, I want my grandsons to take this same course because I know firsthand how important and life-saving it can be. I cannot recommend Swim Tots enough. These lessons are more than swim lessons, they are lessons that can save a child’s life.

My husband and I highly recommend Ms. Amber as a swim instructor! She taught our 4-year-old to swim in just 4 weeks and our 2-year-old in about the same amount of time. Of course, progress may vary from child to child, but one thing is certain—Ms. Amber knows exactly what she’s doing. She teaches with both skill and love, treating your child as if they were her own. As a parent, I understand it can be tough to watch the process, but trust her—your child is learning a life-saving skill they’ll carry forever. The best thing you can do is have the same confidence in your child that Ms. Amber does. This is about their safety, and thanks to her, we have peace of mind. We are truly blessed to have Ms. Amber in our lives, and we cannot recommend her enough!

I understand swim lessons aren’t pleasant to watch sometimes but we went here for one class and it was the worst choice I’ve made as a parent. My daughter was 1 in 2020 and we decided to put her in swim lessons. I can still see the look of panic on her face 4 years later. Another reviewer said how amber pushed too much too soon and it’s 100% what we experienced. She was vomiting and had water in her lungs. You could hear crackles ( I am an RN) we’ve been to two other swim Instructors and they were never as rough or aggressive as she was. I feel like the first lesson was just to scare her or something because she was literally dropping her and she would go to the bottom and wait and then pick her up for 15 min straight in the lesson . I always regret not just taking her out immediately after a minute of seeing it. A friend who has used her before said they showed up to lessons and empty liquor bottles were everywhere. Please stay far away from this place!!!

I think it’s great that there are families that have had success with Amber, this was just our experience. Our family ended up only seeing Amber for about a week (4 days of lessons) before we decided it wasn’t the right fit. It can be tough, especially as a first time parent, to watch your child struggle, but I trusted the process and Amber’s reviews.. our child was throwing up every session due to the amount of water he was ingesting each time, I could understand this happening every once in a while or day 1 but Amber advised us that “he will probably throw up every lesson”.. considering we were following Amber’s own guidelines of how long to not eat before a lesson, throwing up every lesson cannot be normal, swallowing that much water for anyone, let alone an 11 month old is not safe, I believe Amber decided to push too much too quickly, rather than meet our child where he was at. On day two Amber went on a bit of political rant with my husband and I after asking what we did for work.. we are all entitled to believe what we want, I don’t think a child’s swim lesson is the place for it. Our last day I got in the pool with my child and Amber, my child was underwater and clearly continuing to swallow water, she told me not to grab him but I did anyway, she quickly ended our lesson and didn’t say a word to us. He proceeded to throw up a large amount of water, I can only imagine how much more it would have been if I hadn’t grabbed him.

After trying swim lessons at the Y (taught my son nothing, although I love the Y otherwise) we turned to Amber. By 4.5 weeks, my 2 yr old son can swim confidently under the water, float when he needs to take a breath, then continue swimming under water. It is difficult to watch the lessons at first, however I trusted Amber to do what was necessary to teach my son to save himself shall he ever fall into the water. He now LOVES the water and I am confident that he can save himself. I would have given Amber ALL my money for this necessary training.
