Flagship branch of the nonprofit Summit Area YMCA offering more than 40 distinct summer camps for ages 3 to 17, spanning traditional day camp and specialty tracks in art, cooking, building and science, with sites including the Summit YMCA, Berkeley Heights YMCA and community pool, The Learning Circle YMCA and the Watchung Reservation. Camps are accredited by the American Camp Association following independent review of programs, staff training, facilities and safety practices, and the Y also holds Praesidium accreditation for abuse prevention. Financial assistance is available.

My girls learned to swim here, starting as toddlers; they were later on the SAY swim team, and as teenagers now go on their own. Great teen programs!

★★★Julie LotzmannSo disappointed in the renovation. What was the weight room is now the children’s space along with another space for kids/family’s and a massive lobby. Yet the actual gym workout space was squished all together. They even added this monstrosity weeks later after reopening which continues to shrink the only open space. When this place is barely busy everyone is tripping over each other. If someone is using the squat rack near the corner stairs it’s dangerous to access the stairs without being hit in the head. And they’re raising the membership price again... So disappointed. I only come here because I can walk but certainly wasn’t a reason to keep me in town. Moving to another town and couldn’t be more excited to hopefully have a better Y. What a joke.
