Summit Grove Camp & Retreat Center
Summit Grove Camp & Conference Center
Christian camp and conference center on a 43-acre property in New Freedom, Pennsylvania, roughly midway between Baltimore and Harrisburg and one mile from the Maryland line. Its summer Day Camp groups children into younger and older pods that keep the same counselors through the week, with lunch provided, a snack-shack credit, and optional before care from 7:30am and after care until 5:30pm. Summit Grove has paused Day Camp for 2026 and states it plans to restart in 2027 with details published in early January 2027; a week-long all-ages Family Camp still runs July 18-25, 2026. Tiered pricing, an automatic monthly payment plan, a sibling discount and the Jerry Mapstone Camper Scholarship Fund (typically 20-75% of camp cost) are offered.

When I was young, my church was able to send me & my sister to camp and this was such an awesome experience for us. We love Summit Grove, such a beautiful place and the opportunities and experiences we had there that summer will be forever in our hearts! Thank you Pastor Long
Do not rent here if you work. The past 2 weeks they have had loud blaring music all night until 1 or 2 in the morning. They never disclosed this when initially renting the spot. I will not be back.
Love this place. Wonderful, friendly staff. Beautiful grounds. Nice playground and pool. Great, huge gazebo type building used for large crowds with capability of having a group play music or have a preaching service. Grounds also have a comfortable, clean lodge with family friendly rooms.
I have been going to Summit Grove for many activities be over the years. There is something very special about the grounds and you can feel God,'s presence as you walk the grounds and realize how many people accepted Christ there and many more called into ministry. The grounds are well kept and the new Lodge is especially nice. The food is good for or camp food. They have a nice in ground pool and lots of outdoor games and bike riding for kids both on the grounds and across the road on the North Central bike trail. Remember, this is still a "camp" and not the Hilton, but is a clean family friendly place to stay and get spiritually recharged.
