Powered by GoogleCoach Martin is wonderful. She is tough but in a good way. My son was apprehensive at first. Coach Martin is passionate and taught my son the skills needed to excel in Basketball. She gets him to hustle and calls him out when needed. Coach Martin gave Viggo the push he needed to become a better team player and her extensive knowledge of the game helped him understand what he needed to work on. My son really enjoys attending her clinics an camps.
Cindy is an outstanding coach who truly knows how to develop young basketball players. She has high standards and pushes kids to really master basketball fundamentals, but she is also incredibly encouraging as they make progress. My kids appreciate her coaching style — they say “Cindy makes us better!”. I’ve enjoyed watching them rise to the challenge. My elementary age kids have improved dramatically in their fundamentals, confidence and overall play since training with her. They love going to her sessions and are so proud of the progress they are making. If your child is willing to put in the effort, Cindy is excellent at bringing out their best. My kids have grown more in one year of doing sessions with Cindy than the three years of rec league basketball. I highly recommend this academy.
The coach runs practices like she is a drill sergeant. She is tough. 😳 We found it too much for elementary level. Your child who loves basketball will learn a lot, and group management is dialed down, however my child asked that I never sign him up here again. The coach taught him some great drills and resiliency for we had a talk about how you won’t always bond with every coach, teacher and boss out there, so show up and make the best of it. So there’s that, hence the three stars. An ounce of trying to connect with the kids with a splash of humor from time to time instead of tough love style coaching could benefit this program.
Coach Martin is a fantastic coach! She is committed to making sure the kids know the right way to do things on and off the court. She has high expectations and an incredible basketball IQ. She is a great coach for kids of all ages and skill levels.
Enrolling my child in Step Up has been fantastic. Coach Martin (former D1 coach) is passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated, providing personalized feedback that has significantly improved my child's skills. She holds the kids accountable and helps build great foundational skills that will benefit them long-term. The program emphasizes teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship, helping players grow as athletes and individuals. Practices are fun and engaging, striking a perfect balance between rigorous training and enjoyable activities. Highly recommend!
