Powered by GoogleThe worst Rec soccer organization. We’ve done Greenwood Parks in the past, but decided to try SCSA with it being closer to home. What an unorganized MESS. It’s so obviously money is the only concern here. Sign ups left open until the week prior to the season starting, and prior to that they were already hounding and begging parents to volunteer to coach, on top of that, no structured practice / game schedule… just a random practice here or there, no actual learning the fundamentals of soccer. The season was paused because background checks needed to be completed…Why would that not be mandatory to have completed PRIOR to the season starting?? Oh that’s right- because we just beg anybody to volunteer to manage the surplus of kids.Parking is absolutely atrocious , seriously don’t know how there hasn’t been an accident. Making little kids play games in the rain now to “get the games in” because so many games have been canceled due to rain, and their screw up and causing the season to be delayed. This was not a positive experience as a parent. 110 dollars for what? Because the focus definitely wasn’t on the kids…nor soccer. Greenwood Parks is 70.00 and way more structured and organized. My advice is find some else. I’ll take the 15 min drive to Freedom park for the Fall season vs the 2 minute drive to SCSA. Such a disappointment.
Just not impressed with SCSA this year. They left signups open until the week before spring rec soccer was supposed to begin so they sent email after email out begging for more coaches—last minute practice/game schedules. They decided to postpone games and practices after 1 week because they thought it would be best for volunteers to get background checks—why wasn’t that required BEFORE the season started? I honestly think they care more about $ than making sure each team is balanced and have coaches. Our daughter has played spring rec soccer here the last 3 years and this year has been a nightmare. Will definitely signup elsewhere next year. They need to take a step back and look at their priorities because this is a mess.
Parking is an absolute mess...Better get there a half hour early. Fileds are decent. 2 new turf fields are nice.
Excellent fields and facilities. My oldest has been playing soccer here every year since he was eligible and has really enjoyed it. There are soccer leagues/fields for all ages groups. If you have a kid interested in playing the sport, regardless of skill level, this is the place to be.
Didn't have enough coaches or girls this year. Didn't redo teams because 'schedules were already made.' Had 5 girls on our team until last week when they decided to combine with another team that had like 4 girls. Didn't have a coach, me and another stepped up to help because they weren't gonna offer anything else. Reached out to them to express frustrations and now they won't even reply or acknowledge they screwed up. Why did I pay $150? For a jersey? It's a joke here. No accountability, no acknowledgement that things were bad this season. Won't go back. I know this review won't actually have an impact on them but want others to know our experience. Happy for those who have had better experiences.
