Powered by GoogleBased on our direct experience with this club and Jamie Gilbert, it did not provide meaningful support for the majority of players pursuing college soccer. Communication was consistently poor. Calls, emails, and texts from parents, players, and even college coaches often went unanswered or received delayed responses. The overall impression was that attention and effort were focused primarily on the top players viewed as most valuable to the program. Recruiting support was extremely limited. Players were told showcases would help increase exposure for uncommitted athletes, but in practice that rarely happened. Jamie Gilbert also made it clear he did not believe additional showcases were necessary for recruiting, while boys teams were allowed opportunities such as Jefferson Cup that the girls team never received. Injury management was one of the most concerning aspects of the experience. Players who had not been fully cleared were still made to play, despite SafeSport standards coaches should understand and follow. Players returning from surgery often lost their place through reduced minutes or benching, while favored players returning from injury immediately regained prominent roles. Some starters regularly missed practice yet still consistently started games. Favoritism was difficult to ignore. Certain players, including the assistant coach’s child, appeared to receive preferential treatment while other players were held to a much different standard. Organization and communication were also major issues. Practices and games were frequently entered into TeamSnap at the last minute, and cancellations sometimes occurred after families had already started traveling. In one case, practice was canceled only about 15 minutes before start time even though some families lived nearly two hours away. Training conditions did not support proper development. Too many teams competed for limited field space, and players often did not consistently practice with their actual team because of constant pool play with younger age groups. The style of play focused heavily on booting the ball forward rather than teaching possession, composure, or building out of the back. Tactical adjustments were minimal even after significant losses. Video analysis and player feedback were also extremely limited. Hudl footage was unreliable, away games often were not filmed, and there was little meaningful film review or constructive feedback for players. Overall, the experience left the impression that image, favoritism, and protecting certain players mattered more than communication, accountability, player safety, development, and genuine recruiting support. Families looking for meaningful player development and a true pathway to college soccer should carefully research all options before committing to this club.
Great coaches, they put full effort in helping to develop the players on the pitch. My child’s confidence and skill continue to grow. Since coming to this club we have felt like we are part of a big soccer family, it is so nice to have that kind of support for these young players.
My 16 year old daughter has been with the club for 4 years now. We love being part of a smaller club family and love the personal attention the coaches give to the players. The club really promotes a TEAM atmosphere.
Great experience! My daughter is in her 4th season with FC Pride. Her coaches have greatly impacted her development, understanding of and love for the game. Highly recommend!
My daughter has been with her team for almost a year. In that short amount of time, I have seen so much growth in her skills and play level. Her coach does a fantastic job of giving her constructive feedback while helping her maintain her confidence. Thanks for all you do FC Pride!
