Campers work indoors on a different theme each day across painting and drawing, clay sculpting, 3D art, and mixed media, with all materials, nut-free snacks, and pizza lunch included. ★★★★★Georgina DavidsonMy two children attended camp at SBAD for one week during the summer. My biggest regret was not booking more weeks. My son, aged 5 (who I was worried wouldn’t be able to sit still), learnt so much about different artistic methods. SBAD focus on a different topic/theme each day so the children have plenty of time to be creative and really think about what they would like to make. My daughter, aged 7 loved going each day and came home with some stunning pieces of art. She also LOVED the teachers who are not only skilled artistically, but are genuinely kind people who make all the children feel welcome and at home. This is the only camp (ever!) that my son and daughter have attended and been very grumpy that I only booked one week! Needless to say, we will be returning for the Thanksgiving camp!
★★★★★DebraI have been taking the adult abstract painting class for about two now. I absolutely LOVE this place. Terri, the owner and our teacher for this course, is fabulous! She meets each student where he or she is; that is, if you come in with zero experience as I did, she works with you individually on the basics and helps you progress from there. However, if you come in with an art background or experience, she helps you develop. I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge and confidence. To top it off, the atmosphere is fun and conducive to learning. I look forward to each and every class.
