Smile-A-Mile
Private
Smile-A-Mile is a Birmingham nonprofit that has run camps for Alabama children diagnosed with cancer since 1985. It holds five camp sessions a year at Children's Harbor on Lake Martin — including a younger-kids camp, a teen camp, a junior/senior camp, an off-therapy family camp and a session for siblings — alongside year-round hospital and outpatient outreach at Children's of Alabama's hematology/oncology floor. All programming is free to families, and the organization also offers college and trade-school financial assistance to pediatric cancer patients.

I'm a ALL Leukemia Survivor. I went to this camp 2 or 3 times when I was a kid. This is some of the best memories I will cherish forever. Maybe I can Volunteer someday and give back.
