The Shawnee Playhouse, a historic Pocono theatre operating since 1904, runs S.T.A.R.S. Academy one-week musical theatre camps on weekdays from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the playhouse and the adjacent Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort. Sessions are age-banded and built around a specific show, recently including Finding Nemo KIDS for ages 5-8, Matilda Jr. for ages 5-10, We Will Rock You and 42nd Street Youth Edition for ages 8-14, and a Write Your Own Play camp. Campers take a hands-on role in performance and technical theatre and perform in a show at the end of each week.

Powered by GoogleFiddler on the Roof Sr was great. The cast was hilarious and they did an awesome job. The venue is small and was a bit cold (March). We had the dinner package and food at Gem and Keystone was amazing.
Great small town show. Acting was on point and the story was told well (The Crucible). Historic theater with handicap accessible bathrooms on the first floor. Small concession stand available. Very nice experience for the cost.
Not my favorite production this time but have been before. Great little theatre with superb actors. And even better, very affordable!
We saw Grease. My husband got balcony seats for our twenty ninth anniversary. It would have been good to know that there was smoke in this play, and then they didn't use the fans to dissipate it. It was really bothersome to my eyes and my throat. There was also a light for the stairs that was really annoying to your eyes. As for the acting in the play most of it was really, really good, except for they had an understudy for one of the roles, and it was quite obvious as as she missed the majority of her marks and had to be pushed into them. Where she lacked in her spotting, she made up in her voice. The last thing is there are some upkeep. Issues that the playhouse needs two address is with loose boards in the ceiling, etc.
First time ever seeing CATS, the musical, the cast did an amazing job, different ages for all the cast. Costumes were amazing, and the makeup. The building is a historical site. it could use some love from donations but served its purpose. I would recommend catching a show here anytime you're in the area.
