Sea Star Base Galveston runs week-long marine summer camps on Offatts Bayou, with overnight sessions for ages 11 to 17 and day camp for ages 8 to 17. Campers sail, fish, kayak and paddle, try an introduction to S.C.U.B.A. and study oceanography; sailing instruction covers the parts of a boat, points of sail, sail trim and how to right a capsized dinghy before campers head out onto the bayou. The base also runs a Saturday youth sailing program for ages 8 to 18 outside the summer season.

It is a non profit and The facility is beautiful, clean, staff and volunteers are awesome. We had a wonderful experience fishing, swimming, kayaking, due to wind conditions we could not sail so hopefully next time we can go sailing.
