Sea Scouts Base is the Sea Scout facility at Sea Star Base Galveston on Offatts Bayou, which runs week-long marine summer camps: overnight sessions for ages 11 to 17 and day camp for ages 8 to 17. Campers sail, fish, kayak and paddle, try an introduction to S.C.U.B.A. and study oceanography, learning the parts of a sailboat, points of sail, sail trim and how to right a capsized dinghy. A Saturday youth sailing program for ages 8 to 18 runs outside the summer season.
