Camp Casa Mare is Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council's bayside overnight camp in Seabrook on Galveston Bay, acquired in 1958. Sailing is the main draw for older campers, taught from beginner level up at the Margaret Sheriff Sailing Center, and special-interest sessions add SCUBA and other water sports plus cheerleading, fencing, drama, swimming and STEM activities; the property also has an archery range, fishing pier, pool and a sand volleyball court by the water. Campers sleep in dormitories and eat in an air-conditioned galley that doubles as classroom space. The camp is accredited by the American Camp Association and licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Beautiful views, great porch swings, new dorms going up. Fun and informative activities for Girl Scouts both at camp and nearby Seabrook.

I'm only giving a 4 because my experiences were in the early 90's and if they haven't updated anything then some of the bunk houses needed it back in the 90's, but this was always my favorite camp and I've been to quite a few girls scout camps. There use to be a big old house which of course automatically for us girls made the place haunted. I learned how to sail out there. What I wouldn't give to be young against going to Casa Mare those were some of the best times in my young life.
