Schooner Camp is a science, sailing and adventure day camp run by the nonprofit Gather New Haven, serving youth ages 6 to 16 from the Sound School and Long Wharf Nature Preserve on New Haven Harbor. Campers explore the shoreline, study coastal ecology and, in the Learn to Sail program for ages 9 to 14, rig and handle small sailboats. The camp runs 9am to 3pm on weekdays from late June through mid-August.

After 10 years I recently revisited for a sunset sail and wasn't disappointed with the night. Wine cheese and relaxation is a great way to spend an evening (though unfortunately no spider crabs).
