The Connecticut Science Center in downtown Hartford runs hands-on science summer camps for grades 1 through 6, plus Trailblazer camps for grades 7-9 and Teen Innovation programs for ages 14-18. Each week explores a different science theme with experiments and activities that connect concepts to real-world applications; Teen Innovation runs 10:00am-4:00pm.

★★★★Kimbodian SpeaksCT Science Center is located in Hartford and is a hands on science museum. There are many exhibits in all the science fields that you can explore; it's also for all ages too. My favorite was the butterfly encounter; there is a room just for butterflies and they do land on you. There is a parking garage available. There are 4 levels open to the public. My family and I enjoyed the exhibits. There were plenty to keep us all busy. My children enjoyed the play kitchen, dinosaurs, and butterflies. Blue Chip Creamery is also located there. I highly recommend it and can't wait to go back soon.

We wanted to experience what another state and cities science center was like so we put this on the agenda to surprise the kids. It just so happens the day we planned on spending the day at the science center was the same day of the Hartford marathon. We eventually found our way to the science center, but it was a challenge. The science center itself was amazing! The kids really loved all of the exhibits and the building was stunning! We ended up spending the whole day here. We even ate in the cafeteria, which we enjoyed. It’s sufficed anyhow. We’re glad that we put this on the agenda and would recommend visiting if you’re in the area and have kids.

The exhibits ranged across disciplines of physics, chemistry, geology, and engineering. The staff were all very friendly and parking was convenient but did cost.
★★★★★Rinku SBeen here several times with my kids. It’s a fun place for kids of all ages, but especially for school age kids who are curious about learning new things. The building has a cool design and some spectacular views of the river. Each level has a different theme and the staff are always so courteous and helpful. The lady working at the monster drawing tables in the DNA/genetics side of the exhibit was so patient with each kid in explaining the same thing over and over. The staff at the ticketing area were also very helpful in explaining discounts that I never knew I qualified for. Kids and adults can easily spend hours here!
