SEND YOUR KIDS HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!! I enrolled my child in the schools out program for spring break. In March I took a tour of the facility. The front desk showed me where the kids would do gymnastics, eat, the cubbies where they would leave their belongings. They even gave me a flyer showing kids jumping into a gymnastics pit. I loved what I saw and my kid was excited to take gymnastics for a week during spring break. When we showed up Monday morning on spring break I was told the camp would be in Monroe, A 30 MINUTE DRIVE AWAY! Part of the appeal was that I work walking distance from the YMCA in Trumbull. I drove to the camp sight only to discover that my kid would be outside all day. IT WAS 55 DEGREES AND SHE WAS DRESSED IN GYMNASTICS CLOTHES SO SHE COULD FLIP INSIDE ALL DAY. she froze the first day. I called the director of the facility, I believe his name is Andrew. Apparently there was a huge miscommunication where the youth recreation director never told the front desk she changed the location of spring break for the first time. The flyers didn't reflect the change and parents weren't told after we signed up. I asked if they could enroll her at another YMCA closer to my house; but they were already full. I asked for a partial refund for the inconvenience; he refused. These incompetent people changed the location of a youth program, never told parents and DIDN'T TAKE ANY ACCOUNTABILITY. they did charge me the correct amount down to the penny. The staff seemed aggravated that I was frustrated with their screw up. I had to go to work that week so I couldn't keep her home. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CHILD WITH THEM. WHEN THERE'S A COMMUNICATION BREAK DOWN IN AN ORGANIZATION NO ONE KNOWS WHAT'S GOING ON.

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience at the YMCA. I was there with my 3.5-year-old daughter, hoping for a positive and welcoming environment, but unfortunately, I was met with rudeness and disrespect from the Director of Recreational Activities. Her behavior was unprofessional and completely out of line, especially in front of a young child. As a parent, I expect a certain level of courtesy and understanding, particularly in a place that promotes family and community values. This experience has made me reconsider our involvement with the YMCA, which is really unfortunate given what it’s supposed to represent. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and works toward better communication and professionalism from their staff.

I have recently joined the Lakewood Trumbull Y and my experience so far has been stellar. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by friendly people at the check/in, who are truly and genuinely happy to see you. Gym facilities have state of the art equipment with staff available to answer questions. I am working with a Trainer who is exceptionally knowledgeable and respectful as she mentors me through a very affordable 8 session introductory package. I see many other program offerings as well, and in time hope to avail myself of those opportunities. Locker room facilities are plentiful and very well kept and clean. This Y is a wonderful establishment for Trumbull and the surrounding towns. Its warm and inviting sense of community makes everyone feel most welcome.

My daughter attended the summer gymnastics camp full day program. She loved the program and came home everyday excited to tell and show me everything she learned. Also I needed to drop my daughter off early one due to personal issue the staff were very accommodating and explained that is what the YMCA is all about helping the community.

My children adore Ms. Debbie's Stepping Stones program, in addition to gymnastics with Hunter. It's such a wonderful place to be. The Stepping Stones class is a great way to help ease toddlers into a world of independence, creativity, and so much play. Thanks for all the care and attention!!!
