My 6-year-old son is absolutely obsessed with this camp. We lovingly call it “nature camp.” It is hands-down his favorite place on Earth. He looks forward each and every track out. It’s the only camp he genuinely loves. If they ever opened a school, he would be first in line to enroll! The counselors are truly incredible with thier patience, passion, and deep knowledge about nature and animals. My son has learned so many amazing things, even identifying plants, mushrooms and snakes. He even says his favorite part is getting to poop outside, and he is ready to explain to everyone the proper way to do it! Whether it’s the summer program with all its creek time, or the winter camp with unique cold-weather activities and learning experiences, both seasons offer something special. The camp creates totally different opportunities for discovery, and each one is magical in its own way. I can’t recommend this camp enough. It’s a rare gem that combines fun, education, and a deep love for the outdoors. I look forward to him one day being a counselor in training!

I am so grateful for the staff who made my kid feel seen and welcome and understood this summer. My kid often feels anxious in new settings, especially when he doesn't know what to expect but the staff at Schoolhouse took so much care to help him know what to expect during his first week, including sharing a thoughtful social story. I watched as they engaged him with respect and curiosity and dignity that all kids deserve. This allowed him to have a really wonderful experience and I felt so good about leaving him with this team. After that first week we signed up for the rest of summer and will definitely be coming back.

This camp is remarkable! My kids started when they were maybe 5 and 7 and now are serving as a CIT and a junior counselor. Each year, they have come home smiling, telling great stories, having spent the whole day out in the woods with new friends. The culture of this camp is inclusive and child-centered and daily activities (rain or shine!) are creative, engaging and FUN! Campers learn how to stretch themselves as members of a new group and as curious people connecting with nature. Kids gain knowledge, new skills and a new love for nature. This is my kids’ happy place.
