The Salesian Boys & Girls Club is a nonprofit youth club at 150 Byron St in East Boston, founded by the Salesians of Don Bosco in 1945 and affiliated with Boys & Girls Clubs of America since 1970. Its summer camp runs Monday-Friday, 7:30am-5:30pm, giving working families full-day coverage, and draws on the club's 20-plus programs in athletics, arts, science and education plus field trips. Salesian priests and brothers remain on staff and the club follows a Catholic tradition of "Reason, Religion, Kindness and Active Presence" alongside the Boys & Girls Club mission. It serves roughly 3,055 young people a year from East Boston, Revere, Winthrop, Lynn and Chelsea; membership is $50 per 12-week session, and an annual auction funds summer camp scholarships.
