Nonprofit South Bronx youth program whose Bronx River Camp and Sailing Camp introduce middle school students to rowing and sailing on the Bronx River. Campers row as a team aboard wooden boats built by the organization's own students while observing the plants, animals and ecosystems of the urban waterway. Children of all swimming abilities are welcome and no previous rowing or boating experience is required. The organization also runs year-round STEM programs in boatbuilding, environmental science and sailing for high school students, which lead toward US Sailing instructor certification.

But was obviously not able to focus fully on remote control part of the experience. Regardless it was a nice 1/2 hr together where we connected and got to enjoy something together. I hope this program stays so we can come back and get better at it together and keep up our joy and curiosity about sailing and marine life in general.

As expected, safety was address first and safety rules were adhered to. I had no idea the park next to Rocking the Boat had such amazing views. It's amazingly tranquil with nice picnic style benches in the shade for a peaceful break or lunch. This is a place that would require multiple visits to get the full scope of their educational offerings and soaking in the scenery.
