Riverton Yacht Club runs a Learn to Sail program on the Delaware River for young sailors aged 7-16, from complete beginners who have never been on a boat through to those practising and improving. It is taught by qualified sailing instructors in two-week sessions, offered as either half or full days, with several sessions across the summer running from late June into early August. Registration is handled online through Regatta Network.

Founded in 1865, the Riverton Yacht Club is the oldest such organization in New Jersey and on the Delaware River. As their narrative explains, they are "first and foremost a sailboat racing club," with over 175 members and various racing fleets specific to boat types and classes. We wandered our way through town to the river to park and eat some delicious "board walk" pizza (different review) and parked here at the yacht club. The pier is solid and purpose-built. And that club house is just something so special with all of her architectural elements and style flourishes. The gas lamp-style town street lights are also wonderful and add to the classic feel and vibe of Riverton, NJ. You can see the gorgeous Tacony-Palmyra Bridge in the distance, as well.
