My 4 year old has been in swim lessons here since last summer and has made a ton of progress in just 5 total weeks of lessons. The one-on-one instruction with the same teacher, and Monday-Thursday daily lesson format, really enables kids to learn swimming effectively and become comfortable in the water. The facility also does a good job matching kids to instructors based on their needs (you fill out a very short questionnaire when booking). My son is very shy and sweet, and his instructors have also been very sweet and encouraging. I also really like that this facility hires teenagers to be swim instructors - the little kids definitely find them to be more relatable, engaging, and fun. My son's favorite instructor last summer was only 14, working her very first job, and got him from zero experience to swimming on his back unassisted in 2 weeks. Kudos to the Rancho team for doing a great job with hiring and training! With all of that said, parents should go into lessons with the expectation that learning swimming takes a lot of repetition and time. I was dismayed to see a Chinese mom being rude to her kid’s swim instructor this week, because her child wasn’t focused enough. If you’re looking for an intense boot-camp like swim class - this is not it. This program goes at your child’s pace and will be challenging and fun. They end each 25 minute session with 5 minutes of play time, which is great motivation to work hard. My son has many weeks of swim lessons booked this summer and I look forward to booking many more in the summers to come!

Private 30 minute swim lessons have improved my child's swimming form and introduced them to new strokes. They look forward to their lessons each evening.

We’ve had a great experience with Rancho pool. Their private classes are reasonably priced, offering great value for the level of personalized instruction provided. The coaches are highly efficient and focused. They clearly know how to tailor their teaching to each student's pace and potential. My daughter took 12 lessons (25 min/lesson), she progressed from basic freestyle to confidently performing four main strokes.
