PopRox Dance Studio runs week-long all-day dance camps for ages 5-12 at its Capitol Hill studio in Seattle, Monday-Friday 9:00am-3:00pm for $450 per week. Campers learn routines to build coordination and memory, sample styles including breakdancing, jazz funk, hip hop and K-Pop from visiting guest instructors, do curated art projects, and perform for parents at the end of the week. No dance experience is necessary, campers are grouped 5-6, 7-9 and 10-12, and the studio states it is inclusive of all gender expressions and identities. Early drop-off is available 8:30-9:00am for an added fee.

The locker keys you get when you sign in at the front desk. There is a water fountain so bring your water bottle! I saw some changing rooms but I didn’t use it. Overall it was very clean and an inviting environment! It’s street parking so get there early! The instructor (my first time) was so nice! I was able to follow along and see the instructor. They start and end very on time.

I’m a boy mom and generally feel pretty schlubby. The dance classes this studio offers helped make me feel more happy, beautiful, and confident with myself. It’s a real testament to the teachers. I especially LOVED my class with Chyna. She made me laugh throughout class. Since it’s close to Christmas, she was dressed as sexy Santa and taught sexy Christmas choreo to Ariana Grande’s-Santa Baby. I love how she structured the class: start and end with two 8-counts of freestyling to infuse your own personality, then she drilled the choreo a lot so that you feel sexy and confident, and she kept a pulse on the class as a whole to make sure she doesn’t over-do it with teaching too much choreo where the class then feels overwhelmed. Everything about the class with Chyna was amazing!! I’ve been dancing for 15yrs and her class and this studio has been the best dance classes I’ve ever been do. Feel lucky to have stumbled upon PopRox. Thanks for making me feel great!
