Went here to vote... This place is on a dead end street. It's good clip to walk to the building from the parking area for those who are older. Not thoughtfully situated for a voting location...

The centerpiece here at this park is the Phillips Center but that was closed today. When it's open, they host athletic programs, dances, summer camp and other events as the building houses "a full-size gymnasium, game room, kitchen and staff office." I was here for the outside today and got to enjoy the lighted ball field, walking track and four lighted tennis courts. I spotted volleyball and bocce courts as well as a playground. The large picnic shelter is in excellent condition and is available to be reserved. Watch yourself in the dirt parking lot. The park is named for former Mayor Vic Phillips who was instrumental in promoting recreation for the citizens of Gastonia.
