The Pawtucket Slaterettes are the country's oldest all-female recreational baseball league, giving girls and women a place to play on all-girls teams rather than as the only girl on a boys' team. Founded in 1973, the league runs divisions from tee-ball through adult and also fields travel teams for tournaments. It is a seasonal recreational league, not a summer day camp.
