This is a very nice and modern YMCA. Weight and aerobics gym is large and can accommodate many guests. I rarely do not get to use what I need. Basketball gym floor and new. Many classes.
I joined the Y because I wanted to use the swimming pool. The pool is rarely open when most people can go to it. I have to rearrange my schedule to be able to go swim when it is available. Between swimming lessons and and swimming team practices, it's really hard to find open lap swimming available. But when it is scheduled, you can rearrange your schedule to be there only to find that they have other activities that were not scheduled already in the pool. This is extremely frustrating because they make up a schedule, but then they don't follow it. When you call to complain about it, they don't fix their scheduling problems, they just tell you "too bad, that's the way it is". Tonight, after rearranging my schedule to get there during lap swimming, the pool was again unavailable because of swimming lessons that were not on the schedule. When I went to the front desk to complain, the guy behind the desk was playing games on his phone and told me that he wasn't working so he couldn't help me. This place is not worth the money. They just don't care and you can't use the facilities that you're paying for. I'm editing my post as an update and a response. It has been 3 weeks. YMCA posted a response that someone would be getting back to me. No one has. This is exactly what I was complaining about. Nobody cares. I also am going to add a picture of what the swimming pool has looked like for over a week now. An empty and unusable pool. The second time in a few months that the pool has been unusable for an extended period of time.
The sauna in the men's locker room has been broken for months. There is a clear malfunction. Multiple members have reported problems. The fact there there is a refusal to fix the problem is a failure. There is a short or malfunction that will not just go away on its own. Do better.
The staff here have always been super nice. I'm here usually 4-5 days a week to work out or take my child to swim. The classes are absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend power hours, cycling, barre, and yoga. The gym is usually well kept and not too crowded in the early morning. Child care has been good too.
