Open Window Studio
Private
Art studio on a small family farm between Boulder and Longmont, founded in 2003, running week-long summer art and clay camps for ages 5-16. Campers paint imaginary worlds, animals and abstract compositions in watercolor, tempera and acrylic, and work in collage, pastel, sculpture, natural materials and simple bookmaking. The setting - cottonwoods, open fields, a lavender garden, an old barn, chickens, dogs and horses - is part of the draw, and the studio also runs small-group and private classes for ages 5-7, 8-12 and teens.
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Open Window Studio directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

Powered by GoogleI recently visited a “sale” at this man’s shop, and it was easily the worst experience I’ve ever had. About half of the shop was off-limits, but nothing was marked or explained, making it confusing and unwelcoming. The shop itself was a complete mess, cluttered, disorganized, and difficult to even look around without moving things just to see what was for sale. The seller followed me around constantly in a very creepy way, staring and hovering over me while I tried to look at items, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable the entire time. His behavior was completely unprofessional. He was rude, abrupt, and clearly impatient with anyone browsing, and he seemed easily upset by the smallest things. Many of the items were wildly overpriced given their age and condition. While looking at a monitor, I accidentally dropped a 20-year-old landline phone. It was not broken, and I immediately picked it up, put it back on the counter, and apologized. I made him an offer on the monitor, but after inspecting it further, I decided not to purchase it. The seller had already been upset beforehand and completely lost his temper when I chose not to buy it. He cursed at me and rambled angrily, making the experience extremely hostile and stressful. I left as quickly as possible, and I would not recommend this shop or the owner to anyone.
My daughter had her 7th birthday party with Jill instructing and it was a birthday she will never forget. The class, the venue, everything flowed so nicely and my daughter absolutely loves Jill. We will be back!
We have recently started art lessons for my daughter. Page is so sweet and calm and does such a great job. My daughter was so nervous to start lessons, but loves it and looks forward to the weekly lessons now. I would recommend Page to everyone!
I can't say describe how good this place is with words. It is the best art studio i have ever been to! i love this place!! Paige is very helpful and encouraging of whatever you chose to do. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
My daughter started attending Open Window Studio at 7 years old, and has continued to take after school classes and enjoy summer camps. She loves art and was encouraged by Page and Sue to create her own art. I can't say enough about the engaging hands-on instruction and mentoring she has received. We are absolutely thrilled watching her artistic abilities blossom and seeing her grow confidant as an artist and a person.
