Powered by GoogleI have been lucky to have been taking class at One River for 2 years now. It has been a great experience. I’ve been in adult art shuffle + so it’s been small group classes with instruction and assistance with different techniques, styles and mediums. I’ve had the pleasure to work with Miguel, Jay and Josie. They and other students have been extremely supportive of my journey to paint. It’s been a great experience that I look forward to every week. I would strongly recommend classes to beginners or advanced artists. All materials are provided unless you want to bring your own. It’s a great way to explore different mediums and find what you like. All management and faculty are very accommodating to scheduling. Cresta can get you all set up with a tour to get an idea of what the studio is like. It’s been awesome!
My kid enjoys the classes at One River, and a tween remarking that the classes are "very cool & fun" is really saying something. This is her take on classes at One River: I would say I really enjoy the class and the community it builds with like-minded people, and Dana is a really supportive and cool teacher. I think I'm expanding my skills and practice with art, and I love being able to try out things and learn which things I like doing. It's a class that challenges me, and I'm looking forward to building my portfolio with the new schedule. The class gives me valuable time to practice with new styles, mediums, and talk with older students. I feel welcomed there.
I took oil painting and pencil drawing classes here for about a year and had Miguel as my teacher for both. He’s a great instructor, super encouraging and knows his stuff. I came in with zero experience and ended up discovering a talent I didn’t even know I had. The classes were fun, relaxed, and I met some awesome people too. It was a really positive experience all around. We still go every week, and it’s become something I genuinely look forward to.
Our child has been studying at One River Art School for about two years, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. The art education at One River is exactly what I was looking for—encouraging creativity and guidance, rather than forcing kids to replicate adult expectations. My child started in the Art Shuffle class and later moved to Art Making. Although she didn’t produce “perfect” pieces right away, she developed a deep passion for art. Now, she can visit museums with me and truly appreciate the beauty of art, whether it’s oil painting or sculpture. She can quietly observe and engage with the artwork, feeling its charm. She loves experimenting with various materials and colors, and can spend an hour playing on her own. One of the things I really appreciate is the class duration—1 hour and 15 minutes is perfect for her age, and it’s the longest class she can attend at her level. The staff is incredibly friendly, always offering water, hot cocoa, and little cookies. Sometimes, I even look forward to her classes so I can enjoy some quiet time while she has fun creating. One River Art School has been a wonderful place for our child’s artistic journey!
One River is an amazing art institution! Our school age child has enjoyed attending after school classes. One River provides a wonderful environment to hone art skills with fun projects that also allows for artistic autonomy. I couldn’t recommend it more. Every staff person has been amazing and we’ve loved attending community exhibits to view the amazing art works!
