Olathe's Best After School and Summer Camp

Our girls have been attending after school and summer camp here for the last two years. As a parent, trusting others can be very difficult when it comes to the safety of our kids, however I NEVER doubt that they are safe and cared for when they are at camp! Most weeks we spend more time here than we do at home because even after being at camp all day my girls still want to stay for evening martial arts classes. This is a true testament to how much they love being here! They are always busy doing fun activities throughout the day, going on exciting field trips and making lasting friendships. While they have fun I know they are also learning about respect have noticed an improvement in their behavior towards others in and outside of the school. The coaches and families at the school have become like family to us over the years and we are so grateful for such a wonderful program. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a place for your kiddos!

Our son has been a student here for several months, and just recently started their summer camp program last week, but was immediately ejected and banned days later for kicking another student in the back. Our son is almost 7, and was diagnosed with autism at 2, which was disclosed before he was ever even a student here, and discussed in depth before we decided to go down this road. We were assured they have worked with kids on the spectrum, as well as kids with ADHD/ADD/etc, and were willing to let him attend classes to see if he could get his bearings. Our son is a mover, and doesn’t still very well. He also stims and does some hand postering at times. This seemed to be looked at as disobedience during the classes. He was often sat out and told not to participate if he didn’t immediately jump when they said frog. This continued for months until camp started. Just days into camp, I was pulled to the side upon pick up and told he could not return for kicking another child, an older student, in the back. Now, that is absolutely uncalled for, I don’t disagree with that. Their style of “punishment” was never working for our son, yet they continued they same routine. When the owner, Travis Bradbury, told us he’s not welcome, he asked if he had a diagnosis for anything. I almost laughed, but was immediately angry because they’ve been told and should KNOW that our son was evaluated and DOES have an actual autism diagnosis from a doctor. He also stated that he’s never seen a child with autism act like this. Which, again, kind of funny because I didn’t know this man had a medical degree and could make such a determination. I also wrote out and entire page about our son and his strengths/struggles for their intake forms, which they clearly did not read. These people say they’re inclusive and want to make a difference in the lives of these kids, yet when it comes time to be inclusive and try out a different approach for a neurodivergent person, or maybe offer a different solution, they drop the ball and want to make the parents feel like they’re not doing enough. He doesn’t even know what’s going on with his students seeing as he’s asking questions we’ve answered prior. Stay away from this company at all costs. Just take a look at all the other negative reviews, and how Travis chooses to respond to such criticism. Clearly this man cannot own any part he may have in how he’s perceived or how he’s operating a business, or how he treats people. He has a very arrogant view of himself, and treats people as if they’re less than, including the kids. Keep your kids away from these people. They’re not worth your time or your child’s time.

Avoid this place at all costs, especially if you have a special needs child. Owner told my sister they have extensive experience with kids with autism and would work with him and give him special attention. There was recently an incident with my nephew (6 year old) and they asked him to leave the program. When the owner, Travis Bradbury, was asked questions about it, he had completely forgot that my nephew was diagnosed with autism when he was 2 years old. Clearly, they werent working with him and giving him special attention (like they promised) due to his autism and actually were singling him out and basically picking on him for it as they didnt remember or failed to document that he was diagnosed so they wont live up to their end of the bargain. Really makes you wonder what else have they forgot about or failed to document with any and all of the other children who go there. To reply to the owner's response below: You are correct autism isnt an excuse but when they came to pick him up, you didnt even remember that he had autism and when you were reminded this, your response was "but has he actually been diagnosed?" And yes, he has when he was 2 years old. If this place and the owner can forget something major like this, what else are they forgetting or neglecting to do with your children? If you have kids that require medications, special treatment, or a special diet, steer clear because they are clearly disorganized and dont have their ducks in a row. My autistic 6 year old son has been taking classes here since fall 2024. We thought this might be a good outlet for him to learn some important life skills. He can be a little rambunctious and tends to move around a lot. We were reassured that they have experience with kids on the autism spectrum. He started camp last week and was immediately ejected indefinitely days later for kicking another student. We were told there is a zero tolerance policy when it comes to that kind of stuff, which we can understand. When my Mom (our son's grandma) picked him up this week she was made to feel like we and her were not doing everything we could to get him to eat better, in regard to the food we chose to send with our son to camp. Autistic children often are very picky when it comes to food and eating in unfamiliar environments. Getting him to eat anything has, at times, been a struggle, but we always make sure he's fed before AND after he goes to school, daycare, or camp. When the owner, Travis, was speaking to my wife about our son not being allowed back, he asked if he had an official diagnosis. This was disclosed before we even started classes or camp. We explained that he was diagnosed at 2, and we were quickly able to get him into Early Autism Intervention therapy as well as occupational therapy through our school district. The fact that he somehow doesn't know or doesn't remember he's been told our son has been diagnosed with autism shows how little he or anyone else there cared about our child's history, and how little their desire to help him thrive was with how often their discipline strategy was to exclude him. My wife feels like they've been looking for an excuse to eject him because of how he struggles in some areas. They treated us like we were a burden and like we shouldn't be there. Don't bother filling out the "about your child" section of the application. My wife wrote an entire separate page explaining a lot of this and about our son. They won't bothering reading it, or invest any time getting to know your child, but will comment on how sweet it was of you to write something. I would give it ZERO stars if I could. They only ever saw us as weekly and monthly checks $$$. RUN FROM THIS PLACE!!!

We are sssooo thankful that we stumbled on Olathe’s Best! Two weeks before school started we gave them a call and we were able to enroll. I immediately felt confident that they would take care of my son and he would have fun. Summers are amazing because of all the activities the kids do with outings every week. The staff take the time to know the kids and families, building a supportive and fun environment. I will never get tired of hearing the fun that my son has had each day.
