Kansas City North Community Center hosts Kansas City Parks & Recreation summer day camps for children roughly ages 6-15, depending on the camp. Days are filled with field trips, swimming, arts and crafts, science, sports and other activities, with lunch and snacks provided. Specialty camps typically run three to four days.
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Kansas City North Community Center directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

Powered by GoogleThis is the only gym in Kansas City that hasn’t re opened entirely after covid , they don’t have open gym to play basketball and get a day pass or so the employees claim they don’t they make you rent out the entire court and the court is always empty and they claim they are booked. we play outside very often and see that it’s not booked. They’re losing a lot of business.
They went too far with the non discrimination policy.. no investigation whatsoever, some kid said that my son told him the N word and they called it good and believable and reason to quick my son off the camp, without a refund btw, the first thing my son asked when we walk outside was "what's the N word mom?" I was livid, we are Hispanic we had just recently moved to KCMO and my son had never heard that word before. Worst experience ever and I will not recommend these joke of camps to anyone. Terrible organization.
This place has a "Free Little Library" right outside its entrance. One of two things need to happen: either put up notices to only donate gently used books or take down the little library box. Just went 10/03/2021 and found books that were mold covered and someone is ripping the front and the binding off of books. Clearly someone in that area doesn't know how to treat books. If those in the community don't know how to respect donated books, then they don't deserve to have the little library.
A great Community Center, managed by KC Parks & Rec. They offer a lot of programs - arts, health, sports, and more. Visit the website to get an idea of everything they have. At the time of this review, the Center is closed due to COVID-19 restrictions. One room is being used for COVID Testing events. This Multi-Purpose room has a serving window to the kitchen, should you rent this room for an event which is serving food. You can rent use of the kitchen for a very nominal fee. Also located on this level is a library and computer room which is open to the public. There is a fitness room with cardio and weight lifting equipment. It's surrounded by windows so you can enjoy traffic and nature while working out. There's an additional Exercise Room which could be used for yoga, dance, etc. There is also a Pottery / Craft room on this level. Downstairs is another room for rental, the Community Room. They have a full-sized basketball court which at this time is being used for COVID Vaccine events. Outside, there's a playground to the side of the building. There's very limited parking out front, which gives you access to a free outdoor library. There's plenty of parking in the back. There is handicapped accessible parking, entry and restrooms. There's a lift to transport you between both floors. Restrooms are gender specific. The restrooms are combined locker rooms.
The posts appear to be for the NORTH Kansas City Community Center, not the Kansas City North Community Center. The first is in NKC and the second is in KCMO. Totally different cities. I wish the KCN facility had a pool, or a puddle.
