Genesis Health Clubs - Overland Park

It’s a nice gym in terms of machines and equipment available. Relatively clean. My only issue is that the stair machines are frequently out of order leaving only 2 or 3 in workable condition at a time, and the lower floor ladies locker room has had malfunctioning paper towel dispensers for months now without repair or replacement. Genesis has a reputation for having outstanding gyms so it’s surprising to me that I’ve been to planet fitnesses in St. Louis that have more efficient machines and day to day operations than this Genesis location at times.

Unfortunately, I am not a "Diamond" level to gain access into this Genesis gym. My wife & I didn't know there was such a level. We have been members of Genesis Health clubs in Wichita & Lee's Summit for over 30 years and have always been treated with respect & courtesy. The 3 clerks at the counter embarrassed & belittled me & my wife. We felt terrible. They were mean & rude to us. We are so glad we are not Diamond level. My wife & I are seniors and we believe age discrimination was obvious. So sad. There's lots of other good gyms to be members of.

I can’t say enough great things about Genesis Health Clubs – Overland Park. The facility itself is always clean, well maintained, and has everything you could want in a gym—from great equipment to an energetic atmosphere. But what really sets this location apart is the leadership. Bob, the General Manager, provides truly exceptional service. You can tell he genuinely cares about the members and the overall experience at the club. He’s professional, approachable, and always willing to help or go the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly. It’s rare to see a manager so engaged and committed to creating a positive environment for both members and staff. Because of Bob’s leadership, this club feels welcoming, well run, and community-focused. If you’re looking for a place where the management actually cares about the experience you have every time you walk through the doors, this is it. Highly recommend! 💪👏

I do not pay over $100 a month to be sent to do my own towel service for genesis. Tuesday 2/10 at 7pm there were no towels folded available. I asked for a towel the brunette said there weren't any at the moment. At 8pm when I finished my workout I asked again I was then told by the brunette who barely looked up from her phone to go to the towel utility room and get them myself. The blonde boy and the brunette girl were on their phones the entire time. Either of them could've been doing their jobs. It should not be me the paying customer. The blonde boy has never had good customer service, never even smiles. The brunette girl is genuinely lazy.
