Not a great school for learning. My daughter attended preschool here. Past the kindergarten entrance exam with flying colors. Starts kindergarten there and , 2 months in, the teacher starts complaining about how the last year teacher did a poor job instructing. She stated most of the kids that was in the last year preschool was not equipped to be in kindergarten. I then immediately removed both of my kids and put them in a much better school. The new school is much more patient with my kindergartener and my preschooler. They offer phonics books for their preschoolers and introduction into fractions for their kindergartners. Way more than what oak and lily offers. This school was really not worth the money, it was more like a glorified daycare.

I would highly advise against sending your child to Oak and Lily. The front office staff is completely unprofessional, often gossiping about other parents in front of everyone. It’s uncomfortable and feels unprofessional. The building itself is disgusting—there are dead bugs everywhere, mostly roaches, and the carpets are filthy. For the amount of money they charge, you’d expect a much cleaner, more well-maintained facility. Honestly, you can find much better care and a more professional environment elsewhere. Save your money and your child the trouble.

Oak & Lily has done the florals for our gala for many years now. Every year we are in awe of Amie's creations and ability to make our vision come to life. Amie is so kind and easy to work with. She makes for a smooth and stress-free process. Thank you for all you have done to support HOPE 4 Youth and our mission!

My Son attended OLA for a year. We went off a recommendation and were hopeful this was the daycare for us… After pulling our son, it became clear that the Portsmouth campus is not the OLA of old. If you plan on attending please keep this in mind. They do an excellent walk through and first impressions. My chief complaint is the amount of days off they have throughout the year. If you work full time, you will be required to take over 30 days of leave in order to account for various breaks and holidays. An example of our OLA experience was Spring break 2023. OLA was “closed” for spring break, but offered daycare if you paid extra on top of the regular tuition. If this wasn’t bad enough, the first day we brought him that week, I was notified he was running a fever. We had issues prior and had checked him before he left the house(no fever). I had to take SL to go to the campus and when I arrived, I asked for them to take his temperature in front of me. They went to the back and never brought my son up front. Instead, they returned and said “sometimes this happens and I told the ladies in the back they are here all day regardless of how many kids get sent home.” Red flags everywhere and we started looking for other options. I pray that OLA returns to a standard that makes parents comfortable dropping their kids off and worth the tuition cost. At this moment in time you are paying high cost tuition for a less than budget daycare. Tanya in infant care did take great care of our son but she only had him for a couple months before everything went down hill. Good luck and God Bless.

We started sending our daughter here in the fall and couldn’t be happier with our experience thus far! She comes home and tells us about all of the fun and wonderful things she learns about each day. She loves her teachers, which really means a lot to us! They are also great at communicating with us and keeping us updated. This was our first experience sending our child to be in someone else’s care, and we can honestly say we feel completely trusting of the staff at Oak & Lily Academy. Everyone is always very sweet and welcoming each time we take her. We also truly value that God’s love is at the center of everything they are teaching! We highly recommend them!
