Coming to music class with Mrs. Jen is truly the highlight of my little one’s week! Mrs. Jen is so enthusiastic, welcoming, and incredibly talented as a musical teacher. The class offers a variety of different kinds of music that maximizes my baby’s learning experience. I would highly recommend this class to anyone looking for a fun and creative experience to share with your baby or toddler! We feel so lucky to have found this class and community!

We have been going to Music Together Classes for over a year and my daughter absolutely loves them! She is always excited to see Ms Jen and has really started engaging in the classes. Jen is always prepared and creates fun ways to explore music that are accessible to everyone. We also really appreciate the easy make up policy that allows us to make sure we never miss a week - even if illness or vacation means we have to miss out on our regularly scheduled class. I couldn't recommend these classes more!

Noteable Kids and seeing Ms. Jen are the bright spot in our week!! She is a gem, always creating such a warm, welcoming and comfortable space for everyone. I am now on my third round of music together classs, and I can’t speak highly enough about the classes here and Miss Jen. I started taking my daughter at 6 months and wasn’t sure it would be worth it, but I have watched my daughter come out of her shell and find a love of music and dance even at her young age. Miss Jen is so engaging, respectful, and responsive to kids and their caregivers. She has guided me on how to interact with my daughter around music, and just brought a sense of joy to classes and beyond. This class is not one where you sit on the sidelines. You connect with your kid. My daughter now tries to join in on dances even at 13 months. And she loves playing the instruments during that section of class. My daughter went through a period of running around class (just her age). and I was stressed about it but miss Jen was so open and accepting that my daughter still got a lot out of those classes - I can tell because she was doing music class things outside of class. She has been locked into class the past few classes. Lastly, Miss Jen has fostered such an inclusive environment that all are welcome. And have made friends here. If you’re considering joining, do it! It’s such an impactful experience.

I encourage anyone looking for a parent-child music class to visit one of Jen Miller’s Music Together sessions, offered through Noteable Kids Arts Center. My grandson and I began attending when he was about eight months old, and now that he’s two, I can see how much it’s contributed to his intellectual, emotional, and social development. Classes are lighthearted, seamlessly orchestrated musical experiences, filled with interesting, non-threatening, often-irresistible opportunities to participate. Depending entirely on his inclination, he listens and watches from the safety of my lap, or boldly joins into the fun of making music, moving to music, laughing and sharing and connecting with music. Jen seems to just naturally bring music alive, as much for very young children as for older. Born 11 weeks premature, my grandson was barely crawling when we started class, but the pleasure she took in interacting with the children, her sense of humor, and her capacity for oh-such-captivating drama drew him right in. These wonderful aspects of her personality animate her voice, her facial expressions, her bodily movements, and even her eye contact with the children in such a way that the songs we sing never sound trivial or repetitive. Instead, they are rich with delightful meaning, whether happy, silly, dreamy, exciting, or uplifting and triumphant. She engages effectively with every child, inviting but never demanding a response and gently acknowledging and encouraging even their smallest and shyest efforts to engage back. And the children learn, slowly becoming able to match tones, repeat rhythms, and even to audiate—to “hear” music inside their minds. Young as he is, my grandson is now making up his own short melodies and rhythms, pretending to perform them, and then applauding himself! He’s also become fascinated with instruments and the different sounds they make. As I’ve wondered how to further support his growing interest in music, Jen has graciously shared her expertise in early childhood musical development, patiently answering my questions and suggesting valuable resources. The bottom line is this: as good as most child-caregiver classes are, we’ve found that Jen’s Music Together class is a step above. It’s a markedly happier, emotionally safer, more creative and dynamic learning environment for children than we’ve found anywhere else, filled as it is with her personal warmth, her passion for music, her love for children, and her talent for helping mixed-age children—and mixed-age adults as well (!)—create and share a space where we can truly enjoy music, together.
