Powered by GoogleMy children have been attending classes (swimming, tumbling, gymnastics), as well as the after school program for the past 7yrs. As a single parent, educator, and coach, NWK'S has been a blessing. I know that after school they will be engaged and developing physically, socially, and mentally. The staff is attentive and encouraging. I would recommend NWK'S to anyone. They are truly a blessing for Northwest Corpus Christi.
We let our 7 yo son go here for the summer. We sent arm floats for swimming. Later found out from our son that he went under, and screamed for help but NO ONE helped him in the pool. WTH?!? He was bullied and when he stood up to a 10 yo bully, they called me saying my son hit another kid. But nothing was ever done when my son was bullied. Absolute money pot for teenagers to not watch the kids.
This place is amazing! I have had my kids in both the after school program and competitive gymnastics team, and I'm more than satisfied with both. Great gymnastics instruction, and an even greater sense of family and team bonding. The coaches go out of their way to make the girls goodie bags, fun team parties, and a great learning experience.
My kids went here for awhile and it was not a learning experience. They focus on the few and give all others groups kid coaches who are always occupied on their phone or just missing around. Not to mention that the place is smelly, dirty and over crowded with clutter. Felt more like an after school play area than a gymnastics practice.
If I could give no stars I would. This place is a money pit, especially for the swim lessons or lack there of. We signed out almost 3 year old daughter up there, and we had mentioned that she was advanced, in that she had already had to years of private swim lessons. We were informed that she "had" to do the parent taught swim lessons. OKAY, we go and there are two high school aged girls teaching the class. And when I mean teaching I mean singing songs, NO hands on instruction, and them standing in the middle of the pool talking about their day and saying "sing the song really slow so we don't have to do another activity!" Yes, if you want to waste your money go here, to NORTHWEST gymnastics. Expect NO refunds when you call 20 times to tell them that the class was worthless. Michelle (the owner) makes no apologies about how she runs her money pit of a business and will refund NO money even if you only went to one class that was absolutely worthless.
