Coming up on my eighth year at this camp and I genuinely love everything about it the people, the place, and the overall experience. I’ve made some really great friendships here and some of my favorite memories are from summers at this camp. The staff care a lot and it’s a place where you can be yourself, have fun, and grow as a person. I started coming back in 2019 and every year since has been something I look forward to. I honestly couldn’t recommend this camp more, it’s been such a big and positive part of my life.

The perfect summer camp experience for a child into young adulthood. While North Woods Camp does have amazing facilitates and activities the real strength is its heart. The community North Woods fosters is like no other, it is a true brotherhood that works together to build an unforgettable experience. I’ve seen many types of campers and staff come through each summer and every single one of them have left their own unique impact. Five stars doesn’t do this review justice, it’s a solid 10,000,000 / 5.

I was a camper from ages 9-15, a Counselor-In-Training, and a counselor at North Woods from 16-19. I can honestly say that the skills, qualities, and friends I found at North Woods and Pleasant Valley will last me the rest of my life. I became more outgoing, confident, and comfortable trying new things as a direct result of my time at NW, and some of my best friends today are those I met at Camp. Parents – if you want your son to be emotionally mature, kind, thoughtful, disciplined, and in touch with nature, ALL while having a blast over the summer, sending him to North Woods is the best thing you can do for him.

I’ve been part of North Woods Camp for 23 years, and I can honestly say it has been one of the most life-changing experiences of my life. There is something incredibly special about this place. From the moment you arrive, you feel it. It is the energy, the people, and the sense of belonging that makes North Woods stand out from anything else. Campers are not just attending activities, they are building confidence, independence, and lifelong friendships in an environment that truly cares about them. The staff are exceptional. They are role models, mentors, and leaders who go above and beyond every single day to make sure each camper feels seen, supported, and challenged. The level of care and attention given to every individual is something you don’t find everywhere. The program is packed with opportunities. Whether it’s being out on the waterfront, trying riflery, climbing ropes, or just laughing with friends between activities, every day is full of moments that kids carry with them long after summer ends. Campers are encouraged to try new things, step outside their comfort zones, and discover what they are capable of. What really sets North Woods apart is the community. It is a place where kids grow up, year after year, building traditions and memories that become part of who they are. I’ve seen firsthand how camp shapes character, builds resilience, and creates friendships that last a lifetime. After 23 years, I still believe in what this place does for young people. If you are considering camp for your child, there is no better investment in their growth, confidence, and happiness. North Woods is not just a camp. It is a second home.

I'm coming up on my 7th year at camp and I've loved every second of it. It's really made me into a better person and the food is really good. I would absolutely recommend it for everyone
