Beautiful clean location and the kids were great!

The auditorium itself was pretty nice. It could have used more seating, but otherwise it was functional. My main complaint is parking. The lot is small and we had to park clear across campus by the middle school's main entrance. We hadn't been there before and were told by a student just inside the auditorium doors that we needed a guest pass. So we had to walk all the way back across campus to the office. The office says we don't need guest passes.... so we walk all the way across campus again, just to walk all the way across a 4th time at the end to get back to the car. Definitely got my steps in.. but was pretty annoyed at the disorganization and lack of signage for parents. You'd think a district-wide competition would be enough for people to put some directional signs up. Even a little flyer to share on parentsquare for competition attendance would have been helpful, just.. something.

Ridiculously overpriced. treat the children unfairly, and unprofessional. From the families I've talked to, I've gathered this: They charge around 500$ in "tuition", plus an extra 200$ if the parents can't volunteer (newsflash- some people aren't handed everything in life and actually have to work), just for the children to audition. They teach somewhat decently, but teach the children habits that will be seriously damaging in any professional career. They play favorites terribly. They are also very possessive over the children (especially their favorites) with some instructors shaming them and treating them unkindly if they audition for another theatre. 3 separate children have told me stories of how they did a show or an audition with another theatre and never got another role with KCMT ever again, despite doing well in auditions and being a 'favorite'. KCMT- you are a company. The children are actors. They are employees. They deserve to be treated fairly, kindly, and they should not have to pay 500-700$ to work. You are an elitist, unfair, and unprofessional organization. Your productions are absolutely beautiful and they are always done very well, which is why it is sad to have to keep my children from your theatre as well as warn all other parents I know. The children work hard and it is a shame that I cannot be there to support their work. I even enjoyed going to your shows. But unfortunately, my family does not support such organizations. Shame on you.

We've had our kids in two of their musicals (Fiddler on the Roof, Wizard of Oz) and have been consistently impressed with the quality of the output and, more importantly, how our kids are treated during the long rehearsal process. Also, every director and department head has been so appreciative of us parent volunteers. I'm impressed with the whole organization's character.

This is a fantastic organization. The kids had a great time. They receive good directions from the adults. All the kids I've talked to said they love doing Kitsap children's musical theater presentations.
