I'm severely allergic to chlorine gas that occurs when you pee in a pool but this pool is so clean I don't react at all top ymca I've ever been to for pool cleanliness.

I am extremely disappointed with the way my sons were treated at this YMCA. My two sons went there simply to play basketball something they’ve been doing at this location for years without issue. Instead of being welcomed, they were given a hard time for nearly an hour by a staff member named Nina. My older son tried to do everything the right way. First he asked if he could purchase a guest pass he was told no. Then he asked if he could get on someone’s guest pass, again no. Then he tried to buy his own membership and somehow that was also denied. When he asked if he could purchase a membership online for his younger brother, he was told they would deny it because they knew he wasn’t the parent, even though he is a 21-year-old adult trying to pay for access. Every time he tried to find a solution, it suddenly became a new rule. What makes this situation even more upsetting is that while this was happening, he noticed other people being allowed in without the same level of questioning or difficulty. As a mother, it is incredibly troubling to hear that my sons, who are Black young men, were the ones being stopped, questioned repeatedly, and treated like a problem simply for trying to enter a gym they’ve been going to for years. Instead of helping them find a reasonable solution, Nina escalated the situation, accused my son of being disruptive simply for asking questions, and even threatened to have him removed. My son remained respectful the entire time, but the way he was treated made it feel like he was being profiled rather than helped. What frustrates me most as a parent is that my sons were not causing trouble. They were simply trying to pay to use the gym and play basketball. They were patient and respectful, yet were treated like they didn’t belong there. After almost an hour of unnecessary back-and-forth, a friend finally arrived who could sign them in as a guest. Meaning the entire situation could have been handled much more reasonably from the start. The YMCA is supposed to be a community space, especially for young people. Instead, my sons left feeling singled out and disrespected. Based on what I was told, the way Nina handled this situation came across as discriminatory and unfair, and it’s deeply upsetting as a parent. I hope management seriously looks into this situation, because no family and no young Black men should feel like they are being treated differently just for trying to use their community gym.

I’ve been a YMCA member since I was about 9 years old and I’ve visited many different YMCAs over the years. Unfortunately, the New Hope YMCA is by far the worst location I’ve ever been to. Every time I come here, the service is subpar at best. Staff are consistently unhelpful, and I’ve dealt with repeated access/account issues that have been frustrating to resolve. Most recently, I brought my two older children (ages 9 and 8) with me to work out. We go to the gym regularly as a family (3x per week for 1–2 hours per session), and this has never been an issue at multiple other YMCA locations. However, an employee I’ve never seen before abruptly kicked us out, stating it was “policy” that my kids weren’t allowed. The biggest problem is the inconsistency and poor customer service. If there is a policy, it should be communicated clearly and enforced consistently — not suddenly used to embarrass members and disrupt families who are simply trying to stay active together. We will never return to this location again, especially not as a family.

Worst facility I have ever been to Submitted my scholarship information, but for some reason, the The membership price kept on changing every month I tried to speak to management about it. Nobody ever got back to me, and they currently tried to charge my card that I specifically told them not to keep on file. The hot tub is always closed early and the stuff all the way up to Nina Wolf don't know how to resolve the problem or return an email. My situation has been going on for four months and I'm not even asking for the money back. I just wanted them to prorate it to my account but like I said, nobody cares because nobody has decided to even get back in touch with me

This is a good facility, conveniently located in New Hope. It’s family friendly & has lots of group class options. Love the drop-in childcare “Kids Stuff”. In summer the splash pad is fun. My only wish is that they’d update it - or even make it bigger???
