The Naugatuck YMCA runs a summer day camp for campers entering kindergarten through freshman year of high school, open 9am to 4pm with extended care from 7am and to 6pm. Days rotate through arts and crafts, STEM projects, sports, swimming and group games, with Thursday field trips or special guests and volunteer opportunities for older teens.

I’ve been working out at this gym for about a month now, and I’d like to raise a concern. In the weight training areas, the machines are often left disorganized, which is disrupting other people’s workouts. Additionally, weights are being left extremely heavy on the machines, making it difficult for those of us who can’t lift that weight to adjust them safely. In fact, I actually hurt my finger today trying to move them. On top of that, the workout areas are really dirty. After a month here, I’m not seeing improvements, and I’d really appreciate some action on these issues.
I wanted to take up swimming again after a very long break. I am new to the area and thought I’d check out this Y. I am very impressed! Very clean facility and pool, welcoming atmosphere and awesome friendly staff. It’s been several weeks and I’m very happy I joined. The pool is not overly busy and you can reserve lanes for laps.
Most front end staff either has no training or no clue what there job is. I was a member to teach my daughter to swim. We went to the pool whenever the small window for open swim came. The pool was closed. They would send me to another town to swim, The pool would be closed there too. After that I cancelled. And went back to see if I can buy a day pass to workout, someone with a raspy voice at the front desk had no clue what buying a day pass is. They assume I want to try the facilities for the day for free. Very frustrating. After my daughter private swim lessons are finished so if my involvement with the Naugatuck YMCA. For a family package with swimming it’s almost $1,000 a year. I would expect better equipment, some new amenities besides a spinning room, and a trained staff.
A little dated but has the essential machines needed for a gym. Bonuses, basketball court, volleyball, child watch with rock climbing. Has three rooms dedicated to the gym, one cardio, one cable machines, and one free weight room. One of the few places that watch your child while you work out.
