Midwest Adaptive Sports is a Kansas City nonprofit (since 2011) providing recreational and competitive sports for youth, adults and veterans with disabilities. Helps you stay in shape and allows you to learn from others with disabilities.

She has been to adaptive downhill ski events before, but this is the first time she was actually given proper lessons on how to handle the ski. They tried her in several different pieces of equipment to find one that worked well with her ability level. By the end of the first day she was skiing down the hill completely independently (she'd always required tethering before). The second day she never had tethering, just instruction and assistance with the ski lift.
