Powered by GoogleMid week « bucket list » trip. Lucky 3 » of untracked snow. Delightfully empty trails. There was a high school ski race for the northern half of Vermont, so the lodge was full, but the kids were very well behaved; and one young lad of about 16, skiing from Cochran’s, helped my 88 year old ski buddy get his boots on. An Olympic performance of the first order.
Great small ski area vibe with fun terrain. Nice mix of on/off piste with great surface on the groomed trails. Less icy than all of the larger, more northern resorts I visited on this trip. We parked about 100 steps from the entrance, even after showing up at 10am during a holiday week. Looking forward to returning later in the season to explore the rest of the mountain.
Snowbowl is a real gem of a mountain. Not only do they have day and night riding their staff is great and their food is awesome. This is a very family friendly mountain that offers lessons and rentals. Lift tickets are affordable and with the right conditions Snowbowl is amazing. One thing I will say is they are missing out not having night riding on Sat and Sunday as it’s only wed-Friday. My family and I always have a blast at the Middlebury Snowbowl!
Awesome independent mountain with a fun mountainous drive to get there through the Rochester gap. Snow tires recommended on a snow day. Lifty on the smaller chair have us jolly ranchers unprompted. Free stickers when we got our tickets. Reasonable food prices and a nice lodge. This place is great and not too busy.
The staff is extremely friendly. Affordable lift tickets. Has a great beginner area! Has pretty good steeps. The grooming is a little different but makes it more challenging. Good mountain to get your first day or two in while supporting a smaller mountain. Definitely recommend.
