Ford Sayre Memorial Ski Council
Compiled from public sources · October 2026
Ford Sayre Memorial Ski Council is a volunteer-based nonprofit in Hanover, New Hampshire, that organizes Nordic, alpine and ski jumping instruction and racing for children across the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont. Children start in the Bill Koch League from kindergarten through 8th grade, and high school skiers can race on the Junior Nordic Team, which trains from June through March and travels to races together. Nordic programs are based at Oak Hill Outdoor Center in Hanover, where the club's jumpers use the Roger Burt Memorial Ski Jumps; volunteer instructors and paid coaches teach the recreational programs. The council traces its roots to ski lessons Ford and Peggy Sayre began giving children in 1936, and its junior skiers have qualified for the Cross Country Junior National Championships.
